West Yellowstone

The start of the river Henry's Fork river that becomes one of the major sources of the Snake River. (It's one of the best trout fishing rivers in the world as the water is so pure as it is all ground water.)
If you look closely you can see lots of trout chillin' in the water.

The Johnny Sack cabin. He was a 4'11" German woodworker who built this cabin and later furniture for people (he started the cabin in the 1920's) he had a special way of treating the wood so the bark stayed on. The told us no one is sure how he did it, but they think it involved cutting the trees, burying them in the ground for a year, and some sort of liquid that included whiskey,...and a lot of other things I've forgotten.

Glacier - Day 2 -

MacDonald Lake

We went trail riding!OH CAAANNNNNAAAAADAAAAA! We went over the border into Canada and had dinner in a town inside their part of Glacier National Park.
There were all these cows just milling on the side of (and in the middle of) the road. Apparently it's wondering what we were doing there. The feeling was mutual.

Glacier!!! - Day 1 -

Glacier - definitely one of the most stunningly breath-taking places I've been - if I had to make a list it'd be in the top 3. So beautiful, and the air smelled SOOOO amazingly good. I'd breath and fall in love with it. It smelled like pine and clean water and space and sun.

The Going-to-the-sun road got a little hairy, glad I wasn't driving at the time. Straight down. One of the Lakes....The water was unbelievably blue...it looked like it came from the caribbean, or vegas or disneyland where they'd slightly over done the dye. So pretty.

Knott's Berry Farm

We went to lunch at Knott's Berry Farm (we didn't go in the theme park, just had lunch and checked out the gift shops like we did when we were little).

We took these first couple of pictures first and as we were going into lunch Lydia said, "None of my friend's families would spend so much time taking pictures with a chicken. I love us." Agreed.

The Famous Fried Chicken. They had a replica of independence hall. Elen and the fancy carriage.
A really cool 200yr old revolutionary mobile thing. The soldiers march around when you put a dime in, their legs move, the whole thing moves in a circle, and George Washington in the middle lifts his sword up and down.Lydia sharing a moment with the Liberty Bell replica.
