A Fabulous Fifty

My Dad turned fifty this past weekend, so after many "thought showers" on the subject of how to celebrate we decided to party it up in Midway. We stayed at the Zermatt Resort & Spa, which we had heard some mixed things about, but we enjoyed it a lot and would stay there again. We usually don't stay in that nice of hotels, which kind of made me laugh, because when ever anyone wanted to help us with anything (i.e. our luggage) we had this instant knee-jerk reaction of "oh, no, I'm fine". We ended up letting them help with some things.

We went to Snake Creek River in Heber for dinner on Friday, which I would highly recommend as a fun, special, outting sometime. On Saturday Dad and I went to Soldier's Hollow and tried out cross-country skiing. We would both try it agian, I think it would be a lot more fun if you were better at it, we decided it was very similar to being on the eliptical for several hours. Very areobic and using both your arms and legs. We had a really good time and then picked up everybody else and went to lunch in Heber, hit a 7ev on the way back in Midway and camped in the hotel for the afternoon. Dad had an appointment with the spa. The rest of us went to use the hot tub. The hot tub was lots of fun - it had a waterfall. The pool was nice and big. We had it all to ourselves. When you get us all in the right mood we can be very silly, and we were, and we had a blast. After the pool we went to the gym, did a quick workout, and wound up in the steam room. Steam rooms are amazing. We then drove into Park City and had dinner. It was a wonderful weekend - that we would have all been happy to extend for a couple of days. Happy Birthday Dad! You're awesome!
